Overview
Get closer, and you can learn a lot from the animals. Not just from our famous lorikeets, but every single wonderful creature at Currumbin - from the biggest, proudest kangaroo to the littlest gecko.
Millions have been getting closer to Australia's unique wildlife since Alex Griffiths founded Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in 1947. What began with Alex feeding the local lorikeets has grown to become one of Queensland's most-loved and eye-opening attractions.
A not-for-profit property of the National Trust of Queensland, the sanctuary is now home to more than 1,400 birds, reptiles and mammals.
We have one of the world's largest collections of Australian fauna, including many rare and endangered species. We're also serious about research, rehabilitating sick and injured wildlife and educating future generations on the importance of conservation.
At Crocodile Wetlands visitors can get new insights into some of our most highly-adapted predators - the Saltwater Crocodile and the Freshwater Crocodile.
With raised walkways and specially designed pools, guests will have a unique vantage point to see the crocodiles in action each day.
The entertaining wildlife shows also include the Free Flight Bird Spectacular, in which majestic birds of prey display their natural abilities in silent flight, feeding on the wing and amazing airborne agility.
Guests can then get up close and personal with some of Australia's fascinating mammal and lizard species at the Totally Wild Show, then see some of the world's deadliest snakes in Snakes Alive.
Together with these interactive wildlife experiences, guests can still enjoy the famous wild lorikeet feeding, traditional Aboriginal dance performances and animal talks during each day.
With more than 26 hectares of rainforest and bushland habitats, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the best way to get closer to Australia's diversity of natural wonders, all in the one day!
