Step back in time and travel in a historic DC3 to King Island, a remote and beautiful island, located of the North Western tip of Tasmania. The air is fresh, the people are friendly, the produce is absolutely sensational! King Island beef, cheese, yoghurt, crayfish are rightly world renowned.
On the day of your flight, check in commences at 10am at our Silver Clipper VIP Lounge where light refreshments and Champagne are served prior to boarding.
We board at 10.30am for the 1 hour and 10 minute flight, usually flown at low altitudes. The route takes us past the city skyline, into Port Phillip Bay, through the Heads and on to King Island.
Upon arrival at King Island, you will be met by coach and transferred to 'Boomerang By The Sea', located near the main town of Currie. The restaurant is situated atop the cliff tops and overlooks Bass Strait and the golf course. You would be forgiven for thinking that you have just arrived at St. Andrews in Scotland. Their dining space is situated overlooking the Western coast, with 180 degree views of this astounding vista.
Lunch is buffet style, with an emphasis on local King Island fare. (Please Note: Drinks are an additional cost to be paid on the day). Seating can be arranged as desired, with the group placements, couples or individuals.
After lunch the coach will take you to the King Island Cheese Factory where temptation awaits! You will have the opportunity to sample some of the delicious local produce and you may purchase some of your favourites to take home.
